Foundation

Your foundation should perfectly match your skin tone. Be sure to blend your foundation in properly just to be sure you don’
t look like you are wearing a mask.

Dark Circles

No matter how dark these circles under your eyes may be, NEVER be tempted to go two shades lighter than your skin color,
as this will cause your skin to go grey and muddy. Also be sure not to lay your foundation on too thick, this will damage the
skin beneath your eyes as this skin is extremely delicate. If the darkness under your eyes is similar to a grey color, apply a
soft pink eye shadow to the circles just before you apply your foundation. If the darkness is similar to a blue hue then try
using a light peach color first instead.

Powder Time!

Always use loose powder and a big brush. This will keep your powder application light (always make sure you keep your
powder application light!). Be sure to purchase a top of the shelf powder that will sink into your skin, this will stop the powder
from visibly lying on top of your skin making it less obvious. Before you apply your foundation, try blotting a little bit of
foundation onto your skin using a tissue. By doing this you will remove any excess oils, and at the same time you will also be
stopping shininess.

Time For Your Blush

1. First apply your blush to the apples of your cheeks (only apply the blush to the apples of your cheeks)
2. Try to blend the blush in with your cheeks so that the color looks natural.
3. If you somehow manage to put too much blush on, don’t even think about starting all over again! Simply gently dab your
cheeks with a damp sponge, by doing this you are diluting the color and this will allow your cheeks to look reasonably
perfect.

Eye Make Up

Smoky eyes have the ability to make the look in your eyes very attractive. What makes smoky eyes so popular these days is
that it can transform you majorly into a beauty queen!
The key to the perfect smoky eye is proper blending. You want to make sure colors are blended together flawlessly. Also,
it's important to pair light base colors with rich dark colors. Nice mixes include: Soft gold base with deep purple on top,
champagne base with bright blue & peach base with green hue. Here's How:

  • Prep the lid. The key to keeping eyeshadow from melting into your eyelid crease as the day goes on is to keep
eyelids oil-free. To do this start with an eyeshadow base.
  • .Apply eyeliner. If you're going for a typical black, brown or gray smoky eye, apply liner in one of those colors above
the upper lash line, drawing line thicker in the middle of eye. If your opting for a jewel-toned eye (violet makes a
gorgeous smoky eye), line eyes with a purple, blue or deep green liner.
  • Blend in color on bottom lashes For color on the bottom (a key smokey eye look) you'll want a lighter eyeliner & the
key is to 'smudge it'. You can also apply a bit of shadow to get full smudge effect.
  • Apply light base color Again, the key to a smoky eye is pairing a lighter base with the darker hue. I prefer a nice
cream shade for my base. Sweep a light, shimmery shadow over the lids to your browbone.

  • Blend in darker color, but keep dark color below the crease. Now that you have the base & eyeliner on, it's time to get
the smoky effect. You need a darker eyeshadow shade. Using an eyeshadow brush blend in color starting at your
lash line & blending up. Make sure to blend color into the lash line so the eye liner disappears. Stop deep color at
    crease.
  • Doublecheck your work Make sure eyes match & blend color with a Q-tip if need be.
  • Finish with several coats of volumizing mascara.

Eye Liner

As long as your eyeliner is applied in an unwobbly line, you may have your eyeliner as bold as your wish.

For Deep-Set Eyes line the upper lash line with a shimmery line. After this is done, line the outer edge of your lower lash
using a soft neutral shade (gray or taupe). By doing this you will create the illusion of less heavy lids.
For Small Eyes you first need to draw a dark line that should gradually thicken at the outer edge of the eye: then using a
silver, gold or white pencil draw a line under the lower lash.
For Close-Set Eyes line the outer third of the upper lids using a gray, brown or black liner. Gently smudge the liner and
use a lighter liner on the inner eye to widen the space between the eyes.
For Drooping Eyes line the outer third of your eyes very close to the lashes, then carefully sweeping the liner up at the
corner of the eye.

Eye Shadow

I know this sounds silly but not many women out there realize that the eye shadow looks very nice if it matches with the color
of their eyes. So just incase you or one of your friends don’t have such a good idea on which eye shadow to use I’ve
provided a list below for you….

    Blue Eyes:
Violet, purple, taupe, grey, deep blue (a darker shade than your eye color will make your eyes look really blue), black.
With the black be sure to mix it with a bright blue for a smoky effect.

    Hazel And Green Eyes:
Purple, Apricot, Plum, forest green, deep khaki, gold, lime-green, light green, bright purple.

    Brown Eyes:
Champagne, soft pink with a touch of apricot, bronze, brown, beige, khaki green, royal blue, hot pink and lime green.

    For all eye colors:
Navy or charcoal base to define and a powder-blue shadow for highlighting (this brightens your brow bone so any eye
color pops out). No matter what you have heard, remember that dark dramatic eye shadow will make your eyes stand
out. If your eyes are small, try and keep it simple by using only light-colored shadows, and don’t even think about
wearing two shades at once. Brush a subtle base color from lash to brow, and then use a slightly darker shade to
create a subtle definition in the crease.

Lips

Applying Lipstick And Lip Liner

1. Apply your lip liner, this is optional but if you do choose to use it, it should go on first. When your apply your lip liner be
sure not to use lip liner darker than your lipstick, because when the lipstick fades your liner doesn’t and you will be left with
just a outline. Start at the center of your upper lip and draw a line to each outer corner, following the edge of your natural lip
line then fill in the color all over your lips if you want your lipstick to stay on longer.
2. Apply a little bit of foundation before you put your lipstick on as this will also help your lipstick stay on longer.
3. Stretch your lips and slide the lipstick from the center of either the top or the bottom aiming towards the corners.
4. Blot then reapply for longer-lasting color.

Extra Tips

  • Use a lip liner or apply foundation over your lips to prevent the lipstick from bleeding.
  • If your lips are large try using muted colors such as purples, browns and bronzes
  • If your lips are small try avoiding dark colors.
  • Use a brush for lipstick application. Brushes allow you to use less lipstick
  • To keep your lipstick on longer, apply the pencil all over your lips then blot over with lipstick.
  • To keep your lipstick off your teeth pucker your lips into an extreme “O”. Cover your finger with tissue, and pole it into
your mouth. Slowly twist it out of your mouth eliminating any excess color.
  • Apply foundation around the lips, this will give a precise look without lip liner.
  • If you want your lipstick to stay on longer remember to blot your lips after you apply your lipstick.
  • For a special evening, apply sheer lip gloss in silver, gold or an iridescent shade over the lip color.

If your are........

Blonde: Use wines, berries, mauves and cappuccino colors
Golden blonde: Coral, apricots and peachy hues
Brunette: Terracotta, cinnamon and brown tinted reds
Red Heads: Use warm terracotta colors, cinnamons and peachy browns

Create A Fuller Appearance With Your Lips

Ever wanted your lips just that little bit bigger? Well let’s stop wasting time wishing and dreaming! And no you don’t have to
spend a fortune to get those great Tina Turner lips! All you need is a little bit of that good old make up and simply follow our
step-to-step guide.

1. Slop on a bit of that good old lip balm, this will stop your lips from cracking and it will also add that little bit of moisture your
lips crave for during winter (make sure that the lip balm has absorbed nicely into your lips before you go onto stage two).
2. Grab some lip liner and very carefully outline just outside the rim of your lips. Once this is done fill the remaining part of
your lips with the same color.
3. Now its time for you to add some shine and put on a bit of that lip gloss. Remember when you apply the lip-gloss to keep
the color natural.
4. Find some white shimmery product such as eye shadow and eyebrow highlighter and dot it onto the center of your lips.
Beginning slowly, then blend very carefully. Remember what you are trying to achieve is a natural looking shading with your
lip color being lighter where your mouth opens.

If Your Lips Are Large

Use your lip liner to draw a line slightly inside your lips this will give the appearance of smaller lips. Also try avoid wearing lip
color that is too glossy or shiny this will make your lips look larger than they really are.

If Your Lips Are Thin

Draw slightly above your lips with a neutral-colored lip pencil. After this is done apply your lipstick, by doing this you are
giving the illusion of fuller larger lips. Then apply white shadow on the center of your lips, over the lipstick and slightly
spread it. Remember; don’t wear a very dark shade of lipstick, as this will make your lips look smaller.

Eye Lashes

The last part of your make up session is the lashes. Use an eyelash curler. By using the eyelash curler you are giving the
illusion of larger more alert and youthful eyes. Always curl your lashes before applying mascara.

1. Lightly powder your lashes to give mascara a coat to cling to.
2. Heat the eyelash curler with a hairdryer for a few seconds. It will act like a curling iron for the eyes.
3. Curl twice for a rounded curl. Place the open curl near the lash roots and arrange your lashes between the two rims.
Squeeze gently for thirty seconds. Squeeze again at mid-lash for another thirty seconds. It looks very natural.
4. Give upper lashes a second coat of mascara, concentrating on the tips by stroking the brush horizontally across the lash.
Never wait when applying a second coat of mascara to lashes. Mascara, especially waterproof mascara, dries quickly and
can clump.
5. Lightly coat lower lashes.
